Kyson Muhlestein, is a sophomore (in high school) from the state of Utah and one of our recipients of a piano.

Kyson loves music and it has served as type of calming therapy throughout his life. Kyson used to have a small piano that he loved to play as a kid, but his family had to sell it.  The majority of his family, never had the opportunity to learn the piano and now because of his new piano he is able to entertain and teach them what he has learned and practiced. Kyson shares the following thought about his relationship with music:

“Music is my passion that let’s me live in the moment and get absorbed into the emotions of a song.”

When Kyson grows up he hopes to go into the medical field and become a surgeon. Kyson donates his time by volunteering at a homeless shelter when he can and on holidays. He also used to work at a gun range (one of his other passions is shooting as well).

Thanks for being an amazing recipient, Kyson! We can’t wait to see what your musical future holds. Learn some more fun facts about Kyson below:

Some of Kyson's Favorites
  • Favorite color:
    • My favorite color is blue or green.
  • Favorite food:
    • I absolutely love Chinese food, but I am also a die-hard carnivore. Nothing beats a juicy steak!
  • Favorite band:
    • My musical interest varies widely and I couldn’t pick just one artist if I tried! I have always loved classical music though.
  • Favorite song:
    • My favorite song has come to be Onomatopoeia of Magic by Wes Buckner. The song is beautiful and the story behind it adds so much value to the song, and my piano.
  • Favorite holiday:
    • The 4th of July. Getting together with family and lighting fireworks to celebrate our country’s freedom, makes this holiday my favorite by far.
  • Favorite memory:
    • My first time on skis with my dad and my sister. I just felt so comfortable and natural shooting down the mountain.
  • What are your favorite hobbies:
    •  I’ve got so many, I can hardly count them all! To name a few, I am actively engaged in Shooting sports (competitively), piano, guitar, and aerial photography.
